Cookies are small files that help the web work. This page tells you exactly which ones we use, what they do, and how you can control them. No vague descriptions, and no buried opt-outs.

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device, whether a computer, phone, or tablet, when you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites function properly, remember your preferences, and give site owners insight into how their platform is being used.

Not all cookies are the same. Some are essential, and without them the platform would not work at all. Others are optional, like analytics or advertising cookies, which we only place with your consent.

Alongside cookies, we also use related technologies like local storage and session storage, which work similarly by storing small pieces of data in your browser to support platform functionality. This policy covers all of these technologies collectively when we use the word cookies.

Metric Vault AI uses these technologies for three main purposes: keeping the platform running smoothly, understanding how it gets used, and, where you have opted in, measuring how our marketing performs. Here is a breakdown of each category.

One thing is worth stating plainly, because most cookie policies do not. Almost everything we store is held in your browser local storage rather than in a cookie, which means it stays on your device and is never attached to a request. This site sets four cookies at most. Two of them record your cookie choice and let the tag loader run, and are listed in section 3.1. The other two belong to our analytics provider and are listed in section 3.3. Whether those two are written depends on where you are: in the EU, the UK and Switzerland they wait until you accept, and everywhere else they are on by default and you can switch them off. None of them is used for advertising.

3.1 Strictly Necessary

These are required for the platform to function. They handle logging you in, keeping your session active while you work, and remembering the cookie choices you have made. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary storage and still use a logged-in account, because it is foundational to how the platform operates.

These do not track you across other websites and are not used for any marketing or analytics purpose.

Two of these are set by Cloudflare’s tag loader when the page loads, before you have answered the banner. One is zaraz-consent, which is the record of your answer and starts as a refusal. The other is cf_zaraz_client, which is written empty. Neither is used for analytics.

3.2 Functional

Functional storage remembers choices you make so the platform behaves the way you left it. It is not strictly necessary for the product to run, but it makes it meaningfully more convenient, like remembering which market you were looking at or whether you closed a notice. We set all of these ourselves and none of them track your activity on other websites.

3.3 Analytics

Analytics tells us which pages get used, where people spend their time and where they give up. It is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you individually. We do not sell analytics data or share it with advertisers.

Analytics on this site is delivered by Cloudflare, which serves the site, using its Zaraz tag loader. The two cookies below are written only after you accept analytics. Your answer is passed to the tag loader, which holds them until it has one, so if you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland nothing is set until you accept in the banner, and declining or closing it without answering leaves neither cookie written. Everywhere else analytics is on by default, as section 5.1 explains, and switching it off in Cookie settings removes them. They are first-party, marked HttpOnly and Secure, so scripts on the page cannot read or delete them; section 5.2 covers clearing them through your browser.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which reports page views and load performance. It is cookieless by design: it sets nothing on your device and does not fingerprint your browser.

3.4 Marketing and Advertising

Marketing cookies are normally placed when you interact with paid advertising, for example if you click an ad and land on the site, so the advertiser can tell which campaigns are working.

We currently set no marketing or advertising storage and run no advertising pixels on this site. We do not build behavioral profiles for resale and we do not sell your data to advertisers. If we ever add conversion measurement, it will appear in this table and will be gated behind your explicit consent.

3.5 Third-Party Embedded Content

Some pages may include embedded content such as videos, social share buttons or widgets from third-party platforms. Those platforms may set their own cookies when you interact with the embedded content. We do not control those cookies and they are governed by the respective platform privacy and cookie policies. Where we embed third-party content, we note it clearly on the relevant page.

Stored data falls into two duration categories, and the difference is worth knowing.

• Session storage is temporary. It exists only for the life of the browser tab and is deleted automatically when you close it. We use it for the sign-in return path and for notices you dismiss for the current visit.
• Local storage is persistent. It stays on your device after you close the browser until it expires or you delete it. We use it for your login session, your preferences and your dashboard state, where continuity across visits is the entire point of the feature.

The Duration column in each table above gives the maximum lifetime of each key. Actual lifetimes may be shorter depending on your browser settings, your account activity, or whether you clear your browsing data.

You have meaningful control over all of this. Here is how to exercise it.

5.1 The Consent Banner

Where we ask, the first time you visit metricvaultai.com you will see a consent banner. Strictly necessary storage is active by default because the site cannot function without it. Analytics and marketing are separate toggles and both start switched off, so nothing optional is stored unless you turn it on and save.

Where we ask first. If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics stays off until you accept it in the banner. Everywhere else, analytics is on by default and no banner is shown. We record that default in the same place we record an answer, so your settings stay consistent, and you can turn analytics off at any time from Cookie settings in the footer. If we cannot tell where you are visiting from, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we ask. Marketing storage is off by default everywhere.

That now includes the pair of analytics cookies described in section 3.3. Your answer is recorded and handed to our hosting provider’s tag loader, and those two are written only once analytics is allowed, either because you accepted or because you are somewhere analytics is on by default. The two cookies in section 3.1 are the exception: they are strictly necessary, and one of them is the record of your answer itself.

You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately and any optional data already stored by the site is removed.

5.2 Browser Settings

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete site data through its settings. Here is where to find those controls.

• Google Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data
• Mozilla Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data
• Safari: Preferences, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data
• Microsoft Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Cookies and site data

One caveat specific to how this platform works. Because your login session is held in local storage rather than a cookie, clearing site data for metricvaultai.com will sign you out and reset your preferences. Blocking storage entirely will prevent you from logging in at all. We recommend clearing or blocking selectively rather than across the board.

5.3 Opting Out of Analytics Providers

Google Analytics runs on this site through Cloudflare, as described in section 3.3. If you want to stop it collecting your visits here and on every other site that uses it, Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking the two cookies listed above in your browser settings has the same effect for this site alone.

5.4 Opting Out of Interest-Based Advertising

We do not currently run advertising pixels. To opt out of interest-based advertising more broadly, across all participating advertisers rather than just this site, you can use the following industry programmes.

Our Chrome extension does not use cookies. It requests only two browser permissions, activeTab and storage, and it holds no permission to read or write cookies on any site, including our own. It does not set cookies on third-party websites you visit and it cannot read them.

When you use the extension to start an analysis it reads the URL of the tab you are on at that moment and talks to our servers over HTTPS. Anything it needs to remember is kept in the extension private storage area, which is separate from the website storage described above and is removed when you uninstall the extension.

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, our use of non-essential storage is governed by the ePrivacy Directive, often called the Cookie Law, and by the GDPR. Specifically:

• We obtain your prior consent before placing any analytics or marketing storage on your device.
• Consent is freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. Scrolling or continuing to browse does not count as consent.
• You can withdraw consent at any time and it takes effect going forward. It does not affect processing that has already happened.
• We record when and how consent was given, as applicable law requires.

Some browsers offer a Do Not Track signal that asks websites not to track your browsing across sessions. There is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it, and most analytics and advertising systems do not honour it consistently.

Metric Vault AI does not currently change its behaviour based on a Do Not Track signal. We run no advertising pixels and build no cross-site advertising profiles, and the consent banner plus the browser controls in section 5.2 give you more precise control than the signal does.

We may update this policy as we add features, change providers, or as applicable laws evolve. When we do, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.

For material changes, such as adding a new category of storage or a new third-party provider, we will show the consent banner again on your next visit so you can review and re-confirm your choices before anything new is stored.
