Supported languages
The six interface languages Metric Vault ships in, where each switcher lives, and exactly which parts of the product are translated.

Summary#
Metric Vault ships in six languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Russian. Every plan gets all six. This page lists them, says where each switcher is, and draws the line between what the platform translates (interface text and tool result labels) and what it deliberately leaves alone (your data, and anything an external provider returned). Changing the language explains how to change it; this page is the lookup.
Overview#
Language is a display setting stored in the browser you are using, not a property of your account. Choose Español on your laptop and your phone still opens in English until you choose it there too. Teammates are unaffected: there is no workspace-wide language and no administrator control that pins one.
The choice is shared across every Metric Vault page in that browser, so a language picked on the sign-in screen carries into the dashboard, the pricing page and the policy pages without being set again.
Translation is applied to the page as it renders, and again whenever new content appears, which is why a tool result that arrives after you switched still comes out in your language.
Note: Language and country are different settings. The country picker in the dashboard top bar, which starts at United States, chooses the search market your data is pulled for. It does not change the interface language, and the language does not change the search market.
The six languages#
| Menu label | Language | Also shown as | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| English | English | EN | The default for a new browser. Every string exists in English |
| Español | Spanish | ES | Formal register (usted) |
| Français | French | FR | Formal register (vous) |
| Português | Portuguese | PT | Brazilian Portuguese |
| Deutsch | German | DE | Formal register (Sie) |
| Русский | Russian | RU | Formal register (вы) |
The two-letter form is what the compact switcher in the public site navigation shows, so the bar does not reflow when a long name such as "Português" is selected. The dashboard sidebar shows the full name with a flag.
Where each switcher is#
| Surface | Where the switcher is | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | The language row at the bottom of the left sidebar, above your email address | The whole app, including tool results |
| Sign-in page | The language menu in the top-right corner | The sign-in and sign-up forms and their messages |
| Homepage, Pricing, Blog, Free tools | The two-letter language pill in the navigation bar, and inside the menu on a phone | That page's text |
| Privacy, Terms, GDPR & data, Security | The same pill in the navigation bar | The full policy text |
| Operator console | No switcher | English only, by design |
All of these write the same browser-level setting, so they stay in step with one another.
What is translated#
| Area | Translated? | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Navigation, section names and tool names | Yes | Including the workflow and section headings |
| Buttons, form labels, placeholder text and tooltips | Yes | |
| Headings, body copy and the in-app tool explainers | Yes | |
| Empty states, loading text and error messages | Yes | |
| Confirmation dialogs, prompts and toast messages | Yes | Including the default OK, Confirm and Cancel buttons |
| Tool result labels, section titles, insights and notes | Yes | Translated as the result paints, in visible waves on a long report |
| Recommendation panels | Yes | |
| The four policy pages | Yes | Published in all six languages |
| The sign-in and sign-up screens | Yes | |
| Alert and report emails | No | Sent in English on every plan |
| The operator console | No | English by design |
| Metric and format codes | No | See the list below |
Codes that stay in English#
These are treated as identifiers rather than words, so they read the same in every language, including inside a translated phrase. "SERP Features" becomes "Características SERP" in Spanish, not "Características de la página de resultados".
AI SEO GEO GSC CPC CPA CTR CVR ROI ROAS KPI DA PA DR UR KD TLD DNS SSL URL HTML XML CSS JS JSON CSV PDF PNG JPG JPEG WEBP SVG GIF API SERP PLA PPC LLM GBP FAQ UTM B2B B2C ID OK ESC ASC DESC H1 H2 H3 H4
Brand and company names are never translated either, including Metric Vault itself and the names of search engines, AI engines and social networks.
What is not translated, and why#
| Left as-is | Reason |
|---|---|
| Domain names, URLs and email addresses | Translating one would break the thing it points at |
| Keywords and search phrases you entered | They are the query, not a label |
| Your own titles, notes, tags and report names | Your content |
| Values returned by a data provider or an AI engine | They arrive in whatever language that source used |
| Numbers | Left in place so digits and separators stay intact |
| Article drafts, briefs, social posts and other generated content | This is output, not interface. Use Localization to translate content into another language |
The rule underneath all of it: interface text is ours to translate, data is yours.
Coverage#
Translation is not yet complete. English is always whole; the other five share one dictionary, and interface text added recently can appear in English until the next translation pass runs. Practically, this shows up as an occasional English label or message inside an otherwise translated screen, most often on newer tools.
As measured on 6 August 2026, the shipped dictionary covers 10,946 of the 19,642 interface strings currently on screen, identically for all five non-English languages. Nothing is broken when a string is missing: the English original is shown rather than a blank or a placeholder.
If you find one, report the exact wording and it can be added. See Some text is still in English.
Behavior worth knowing#
| Behavior | What happens |
|---|---|
| First non-English selection | The translations are fetched once per browser. On a slow connection there is a brief pause before the text swaps |
| English selection | Nothing is fetched at all. English users never download the dictionary |
| Switching back to English | The exact original wording is restored, not a translation of a translation |
| A result already on screen | It is translated in place when you switch |
| A result that arrives after the switch | It is translated as it renders |
| While a long result is being translated | A small Translating… indicator is shown |
| A translation request that fails | That part stays in English and the rest continues. Nothing is left half-translated |
| Signing out | The choice is kept, because it lives in the browser, not the session |
| Clearing site data | The choice resets to English |
| Exporting a report | The export captures what is on screen, so it comes out in the language that was active when the result was generated |
Limitations#
- Six languages. There is no way to add a seventh yourself, and no bring-your-own-dictionary option.
- The setting is per browser, never per account or per workspace.
- Emails are English on every plan.
- Right-to-left languages are not supported.
- A translated label is kept short on purpose so it fits the control it sits in; it is not always a literal translation of the English.
