White-label reports
What white-label reporting covers on Pro and above, which surface carries your brand, and exactly what a client sees when you send them a branded link.
Last updated 2026-08-06
Summary#
White-label reporting puts your company name, logo and colors on the public report pages you send to clients, and can remove Metric Vault's own branding from them entirely. It is included with the Pro plan and above, is configured once, and then applies automatically to every share link you create afterwards. This page explains what it covers and what a client actually sees; the editor itself is documented in Custom branding.
Purpose#
Agencies sell analysis, not software. A client who receives a report with somebody else's logo on it learns two things you did not intend to teach them: which tool you use, and that they could buy it themselves.
White-labelling closes that gap. The deliverable carries your identity, the client's attention stays on the findings, and the platform stays where it belongs, which is behind the scenes.
Requirements#
- The Pro, Agency or Enterprise plan. Saving branding on Free or Starter is refused by the server with an upgrade message.
- A logo file under 500 KB in PNG, SVG or JPEG format, if you want one.
- Your brand colors as hex values.
Permissions#
| Plan | Can save branding | Branding applied to their share pages |
|---|---|---|
| Free | No | No |
| Starter | No | No |
| Pro | Yes | Yes |
| Agency | Yes | Yes |
| Enterprise | Yes | Yes |
Branding is stored per account. Share pages are branded with the settings of the account that created the link, so if two people in a team both create links, each link carries the branding of its own creator. Resetting branding back to the default is not plan-restricted.
If your plan is below Pro, the save is refused and the editor shows the server's message, which names the plan you need and the plan you are on: This feature requires the Pro plan. Your account is on Free. Upgrade to unlock it. See Upgrading and downgrading.
Navigation Path#
The overview screen:
Dashboard → Track & Report → White-Label Reports
The editor, reached from that screen's Open White-Label Settings button, or directly:
Dashboard → Account & Team → Integrations → White-label Branding
Step-by-Step Guide#
- Open the branding editor by either route above.
- Fill in your details. Company name, logo, primary color, accent color and an optional custom footer line.
- Decide about Metric Vault's branding. The Hide "Powered by Metric Vault" checkbox removes our branding from your public share pages.
- Watch the live preview on the right. It updates as you type, so you can see the logo, colors and footer before saving anything.
- Press Save branding. The confirmation appears under the buttons.
- Create a share link from any result and press Preview in the share dialog. The page that opens is what your client will see. See Sharing a result by link.
The full field-by-field reference, including the validation rules and the reset flow, is in Custom branding.
What a client sees on a branded page#
The surface that carries your brand is the public share page a share link opens. Point by point, here is what changes once branding is saved.
| Element | Default | With your branding |
|---|---|---|
| Header mark | The Metric Vault logo and wordmark | Your uploaded logo, or your company name set as a wordmark if you have not uploaded one |
| Page colors | The Metric Vault purple and magenta | Your primary and accent colors, applied to the page's highlights and buttons |
| Browser tab title | The report title followed by "Metric Vault" | The report title followed by your company name, or the report title alone when Metric Vault branding is hidden |
| Header button | Powered by Metric Vault → | Removed when Metric Vault branding is hidden |
| Footer text | "This report was generated by Metric Vault — an AI-powered SEO, traffic, and brand intelligence platform." | Your custom footer line if you set one; removed entirely when Metric Vault branding is hidden and no custom footer is set |
| Footer button | Run your own analysis → | Removed when Metric Vault branding is hidden |
| Footer meta | Shared <date> · Viewed N times | Unchanged. This always appears |
The report body itself is unchanged. Branding wraps the report; it does not restyle the tables, tiles or charts inside it.
Note: Logos are displayed at up to 34 pixels tall and 150 pixels wide, so a wide horizontal lockup reads better in the header than a tall square mark.
What branding does not change#
Being precise here saves an awkward moment in front of a client.
- Downloaded files. PDF, Excel, CSV and JSON exports are generated in your browser and carry the Metric Vault header band and the footer line "Generated by Metric Vault · metricvaultai.com". If the deliverable must carry only your brand, send a branded share link rather than a downloaded file. See Exporting results.
- The app itself. Your teammates and you still see Metric Vault's interface. The branding is for the pages your clients read.
- The domain. Share pages are served from
metricvaultai.com/share/.... There is no custom-domain option. - Emails. Alert and invite emails come from Metric Vault addresses.
- Report content. Branding never edits, hides or rewrites anything the tool found.
Examples#
Example: An agency sets its company name to Acme SEO, uploads a horizontal logo, sets the primary color to its brand blue, writes the footer "Prepared by Acme SEO for your client", and ticks Hide "Powered by Metric Vault". Every share link it creates from then on opens a page headed by the Acme logo, in Acme blue, with the Acme footer, and no reference to Metric Vault at all.
Example: A consultant on Pro sets only a company name and colors. Their share pages show their name as a wordmark and their colors, and keep the small Powered by Metric Vault → button, which they are happy with because it explains where the data comes from.

Tips#
- Do this before your first client link, not after. Existing links keep the branding that was in force when they were created.
- Use a logo with a transparent background so it sits cleanly on both light and dark share pages.
- Keep the accent color genuinely distinct from the primary one; they are used together in gradients and highlights.
- Preview a real report rather than judging by the editor's preview card alone.
Best Practices#
- Treat branding as part of onboarding a new agency account, alongside the team invites.
- Pick a custom footer that names the deliverable, not just your company. "Prepared by Acme SEO for your client" reads better in a client's inbox than a bare company name.
- If different clients need different branding, note that branding is stored once per account, so plan around separate accounts or a shared, neutral brand.
- Keep a branded example link to show prospects what your reporting looks like.
Common Mistakes#
- Expecting downloaded PDFs to be branded. The branded surface is the share page.
- Uploading a logo over 500 KB. It is refused with a size message; compress it first.
- Ticking Hide "Powered by Metric Vault" without setting a custom footer, which leaves the page footer with only the shared date and view count.
- Sharing a link created before you saved branding and assuming it will update. It will not; create a new link.
Limitations#
- Pro and above only.
- One branding profile per account.
- Applies to public share pages; downloaded files carry Metric Vault branding.
- No custom domain for share URLs.
- No branded email delivery.
- No per-client or per-report branding overrides.
Troubleshooting#
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
This feature requires the Pro plan. Your account is on Free. Upgrade to unlock it. | Your plan is below Pro, so the save was refused | Upgrade. See Upgrading and downgrading |
Logo too large — keep it under 500KB | The logo file exceeds the limit | Compress or resize the image |
Colors must be hex format (e.g. #7c5cfc) | A color was entered in another format | Enter a hex value such as #7c5cfc |
| A share page still shows Metric Vault branding | The link was created before you saved, or the settings were not saved | Save branding, then create a new link |
| The logo does not appear on the share page | The logo was not saved with the rest of the settings | Reopen the editor, upload the logo again, and press Save branding |
| An exported PDF is not branded | Downloaded files carry Metric Vault branding | Send a branded share link instead. See Sharing a result by link |
