Plans and pricing
Every Metric Vault plan with its exact price, credit allowance, seat count and the capabilities checked against it.

Summary#
Metric Vault has five subscription tiers: Free, Starter, Pro, Agency and Enterprise. A plan sets three things that the platform checks every time you work: your monthly credit allowance, how many people can share your workspace, and which capabilities you can reach. This page is the authoritative list of those values, including Starter, which is a real purchasable plan that no public page advertises.
Overview#
Every account resolves to exactly one plan. New accounts start on Free. A paid plan is granted when a Stripe subscription becomes active, and it is removed when that subscription reaches a terminal state. See Subscription states for the full list of states and what each one entitles you to.
A plan is not a bundle of separate products. All accounts see the same app and the same tool catalogue. What changes with the tier is how much premium data you can pull in a month, how many people can work alongside you, and a short list of capabilities described under "Capabilities checked against your plan" below.
Prices are quoted in US dollars. See Tax, VAT and currency for currency and tax handling.
The plans at a glance#
| Free | Starter | Pro | Agency | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $0 | $19 | $79 | $249 | $749 |
| Annual price, per month | $0 | Not published | $63 | $199 | $599 |
| Annual saving | — | Not published | $192/yr | $600/yr | $1,800/yr |
| Monthly credits | 0 | 100 | 500 | 2,000 | 10,000 |
| Total team seats | 1 | 1 | 5 | 15 | Unlimited in practice |
| Sold on the pricing page | Yes | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 14-day free trial offered | Not applicable | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Note: Annual billing is offered through the Monthly / Annual toggle at the top of the pricing grid, badged Save 20%. Starter has a working annual checkout price, but no annual amount is published for it anywhere in the product, so quote only the $19 monthly figure to a customer.
What a credit allowance means#
The credit allowance is a monthly budget for premium reports. It is not a limit on how much you can use the platform. On any paid plan, tools priced at 0 or 1 credit keep working after the allowance is spent, and only reports priced at 3 credits or more are stopped. The Free plan is the exception: it runs the zero-credit technical SEO tools only.
Read How credits work before quoting a plan on credits alone. Most day-to-day work does not touch the allowance.
| Plan | Monthly credits | Domain Overviews that fits (6 credits each) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 | None. Premium reports need a paid plan. |
| Starter | 100 | 16 |
| Pro | 500 | 83 |
| Agency | 2,000 | 333 |
| Enterprise | 10,000 | 1,666 |
Credits do not roll over. The allowance resets at 00:00 UTC on the first day of each calendar month, not on your subscription anniversary. See Tracking your usage.
Team seats#
A seat is one person in your workspace. The owner always holds one seat and is not counted against the invite limit.
| Plan | Total seats | Invites you can send |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | 0 |
| Starter | 1 | 0 |
| Pro | 5 | 4 |
| Agency | 15 | 14 |
| Enterprise | Unlimited in practice | 100,000 |
On Free and Starter, an invite attempt is refused with:
Team invites require the Pro plan or higher. Your account is on Starter.
Important: That message names Starter on both Free and Starter, because both plans carry a zero invite allowance. If a customer on Free quotes it back to you, they are not on Starter. Confirm the plan on the Account page rather than from the message.
At the seat cap on Pro or Agency, the message instead reads:
Team seat limit reached (4 members on the Pro plan). Upgrade for more seats.
The number in that message is the invite allowance, not the total seat count. See Seats and plan limits.
Capabilities checked against your plan#
These are applied automatically. If your plan is below the minimum, the action is refused and the message names the plan you need.
| Capability | Minimum plan | What you see below it |
|---|---|---|
| Any tool that costs credits | Any paid plan | This tool needs a paid plan. Free includes the 10 technical SEO tools; upgrade to Pro to unlock the rest. |
| Premium reports costing 3 credits or more | Any paid plan, within the monthly allowance | An over-quota message naming your plan and the reset date |
| Scheduled reports | Starter | The feature reports that it requires a higher plan |
| White-label report branding | Pro | The branding save is refused with the required plan named |
| Team invitations | Pro | The seat message quoted above |
| Get Recommendations | Pro by default | AI recommendations are available on the Pro plan and above. Your account is on Free. Upgrade to turn any result into a step-by-step action plan. |
| REST API keys and API analysis calls | Enterprise | Key creation is refused with the required plan named |
The minimum plan for Get Recommendations is configurable by an administrator, so a workspace may see it enabled from Starter. It also has its own monthly allowance, separate from credits: 30 on Starter, 100 on Pro, 400 on Agency, 2,000 on Enterprise, and none on Free. Those figures are the defaults and can also be adjusted. See Get Recommendations and Quotas and rate limits.
Published plan allowances#
The pricing page lists a further set of per-plan figures: blog websites, newsletter subscribers, media storage, monitored competitor URLs, rank alerts, tracked AI prompts, client workspaces, premium AI models on Agency and above, bulk analysis and generation, and removing Metric Vault branding from deliverables. These describe what each plan entitles you to and are the figures we will hold an account to.
They are not applied by an automatic check at the moment of use, so the app will not stop you at the number. Treat them as the agreed level for your plan, and talk to us before you plan work that exceeds them. The full list, group by group, is in Full plan comparison.
SSO and SAML are available only under a custom agreement, on request. They are not part of any self-serve plan. See Enterprise and custom agreements.
The plans in detail#
Free#
$0, no card, no expiry. One seat. Zero credits.
Free runs the ten technical SEO tools that cost nothing to operate, and the free AI visibility checks. Everything that costs a credit, including the 1-credit research and writing tools, needs a paid plan.
Site Audit is not one of them, though people expect it to be. It costs 1 credit, so a Free account is refused it like any other metered tool. The single-URL On-Page SEO Checker is the free counterpart; the whole-site crawl is the paid one. See Site Audit, and Credit cost table for what every tool costs.
Choose it to evaluate the platform, or to keep running technical checks on your own site indefinitely. See What you get on Free.
Starter#
$19 per month. One seat. 100 credits per month.
Starter is a full paid plan. It unlocks every tool that costs credits, subject to the 100-credit monthly allowance, and it clears the paid-plan check that Free fails. It also meets the minimum plan for scheduled reports. It does not include team invitations, white-label branding, or Get Recommendations under the default configuration.
Important for support: Starter has no card on the pricing page or the homepage. A customer cannot find it by browsing. It is a live plan with a working checkout, it appears in the Account page as STARTER PLAN at $19, and existing Starter customers are billed normally. If a customer needs the lowest paid tier, send them a Starter checkout link. See Subscribing and checkout.
Pro#
$79 per month, or $63 per month billed annually. Five seats. 500 credits per month.
Pro is the first tier with a team, and the first with white-label report branding and Get Recommendations. The pricing page also lists Blog Studio with one website, unlimited posts, the AI writing and pre-publish check set, and email support.
Agency#
$249 per month, or $199 per month billed annually. Fifteen seats. 2,000 credits per month.
Everything in Pro. The pricing page adds 15 client workspaces, Blog Studio with 10 websites, premium AI models, editor and author roles, removal of Metric Vault branding from client deliverables, and priority support.
Enterprise#
$749 per month, or $599 per month billed annually. Unlimited seats in practice. 10,000 credits per month.
Everything in Agency, plus REST API access with your own keys, which is checked on both key creation and every API call. The pricing page also lists unlimited blog websites, unlimited monitoring and tracked prompts, a dedicated account manager with an SLA, and onboarding and team training. See API overview.
Custom#
Not a subscription tier. Custom is a sales conversation for organizations that need a negotiated credit volume, SSO or SAML, a DPA and security review, dedicated infrastructure or data residency, custom integrations, or a named CSM with a bespoke SLA. Custom accounts are provisioned on one of the standard tiers with terms agreed separately. See Enterprise and custom agreements.
How your plan is decided#
| Situation | Resulting plan |
|---|---|
| New account, no subscription | Free |
| Stripe subscription active or trialing | The tier matching the subscribed price |
| Card failing, subscription still in dunning | The paid tier is kept for the whole retry window |
| Subscription cancelled, unpaid or expired | Free, at the end of the paid period |
| Two active subscriptions on one account | The higher of the two tiers |
| Plan set manually by Metric Vault support | That plan, and a later Stripe renewal will not overwrite it |
Entitlement is refreshed when Stripe notifies us of a change, and a reconciliation runs regularly as a safety net, so a change normally appears within minutes. If it does not, see My plan did not update after paying.
