Plans and billing

Everything that touches your subscription: the plans, how credits are spent, checkout, upgrades, invoices and cancellation.

Last updated 2026-08-06

Summary#

This category covers every part of your subscription: which plans exist and what each one includes, how credits are spent, how to subscribe, how to change or cancel a plan, and where invoices live. If you are deciding what to buy, start with Plans and pricing. If you are trying to work out why a tool asked you to upgrade, start with How credits work.

Overview#

Metric Vault sells five subscription tiers. Free costs nothing and never expires. Starter, Pro, Agency and Enterprise are paid plans billed monthly or annually through Stripe. What scales with price is the monthly credit allowance, the number of team seats, and a small set of capabilities that are checked against your plan whenever you use them.

Two ideas explain almost all billing questions:

  • Credits meter premium reports, not everything. The technical SEO tools cost nothing on every plan. On a paid plan, tools priced at 1 credit keep running even after your monthly allowance is spent. Only reports priced at 3 credits or more are stopped when the allowance runs out. How credits work explains the model in full.
  • Your plan is resolved from your Stripe subscription. When a subscription starts, renews, lapses or is cancelled, your tier follows it automatically. Subscription states lists every subscription state and whether it gives you paid access.

Payments, cards and invoices are handled by Stripe. Metric Vault never sees or stores your card details, and your invoice history lives in the Stripe billing portal you reach from Account → Manage Billing.

Choosing and comparing plans#

  • Plans and pricing — every plan, its price, credit allowance, seat count and the capabilities that are checked against it. Includes Starter, which is a real purchasable plan that does not appear on the public pricing page.
  • Full plan comparison — the complete feature matrix from the pricing page, group by group.
  • The 14-day free trial — how the 14-day trial works and who qualifies.
  • Team and workspace billing — one subscription per workspace, one shared credit pool, and who is allowed to change billing.
  • Enterprise and custom agreements — what Enterprise includes and what is available under a custom agreement.

Credits and usage#

  • How credits work — what a credit is, what each tool costs, and what is never metered.
  • Tracking your usage — where to see what you have spent this month and when the allowance resets.
  • Quotas and rate limits — the monthly quota gate, the hourly fair-use limit on light tools, and the separate allowance for AI recommendations.
  • Credit cost table — the complete per-tool credit price list.
