Custom branding
The branding editor field by field: company name, logo, primary and accent colors, custom footer, hiding Metric Vault branding, saving and resetting.
Last updated 2026-08-06
Summary#
The branding editor is one card inside Integrations. It holds your company name, a logo, two brand colors, an optional footer line and a switch that removes Metric Vault's branding from your public report pages. A live preview shows the result as you type, and one Save branding press applies it to every share link you create from then on. Saving requires the Pro plan or above; resetting does not.
Purpose#
Branding settings tend to sprawl into a dozen switches nobody adjusts. This editor keeps to the five things that actually change what a client sees, puts them on one card, and shows a preview beside them so you are never saving blind.
Everything here writes one small record against your account. There is no build step and no publishing step: the next share page you create reads it.
Requirements#
- The Pro, Agency or Enterprise plan to save.
- A signed-in session. Saving without one shows
Sign in first. - Optionally a logo file: PNG, SVG or JPEG, under 500 KB.
- Colors as hex values.
Permissions#
Only the account holder edits their own branding. Saving is checked against your plan on the server, so it cannot be bypassed from the browser. Reset is not plan-gated, which means an account that has dropped below Pro can still clear branding it set earlier.
Reading branding is workspace-aware, so a teammate who has switched into your workspace sees your saved settings in the editor. The branding applied to a share page is always that of the account that created the link.
Navigation Path#
Dashboard → Account & Team → Integrations → White-label Branding
Or from Dashboard → Track & Report → White-Label Reports press Open White-Label Settings.
Inputs#
| Field | Control | Accepts | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| COMPANY NAME | Text box, placeholder e.g. Acme SEO Agency | Any text; stored up to 120 characters | Empty | Used as the header wordmark when no logo is uploaded, and in the browser tab title |
| LOGO · PNG/SVG, under 500KB | Drop zone reading Click to upload logo / "or drag & drop a file" | PNG, SVG or JPEG under 500 KB | None | Shown in the share page header at up to 34px tall and 150px wide |
| PRIMARY COLOR | Color swatch plus hex box | A hex color | #7C5CFC | The main brand color on the share page |
| ACCENT COLOR | Color swatch plus hex box | A hex color | #E0399B | The secondary color, used with the primary in gradients |
| CUSTOM FOOTER · optional | Text box, placeholder e.g. Prepared by Acme SEO for your client | Any text; stored up to 300 characters | Empty | Replaces the default footer paragraph on share pages |
| Hide "Powered by Metric Vault" | Checkbox, sub-label "Removes our branding from public share pages", badge Pro only | On or off | Off | Removes the header button, the default footer line and the footer call to action |
Clicking either color swatch opens your operating system's color picker and writes the chosen value into the hex box. Typing a valid six-digit hex value into the box updates the swatch. Colors must be hex; anything else is refused on save with Colors must be hex format (e.g. #7c5cfc).
Step-by-Step Guide#
Save your branding#
- Open
Dashboard → Account & Team → Integrationsand scroll to the White-label Branding card, marked with a Pro badge. - Type your company name into COMPANY NAME. The LIVE PREVIEW card on the right updates immediately, and the preview footer follows it too.
- Click the logo drop zone and choose your file, or drag one onto it. It appears in the preview at once. A file over 500 KB is rejected with
Logo must be under 500KBbefore it is uploaded anywhere. - Set PRIMARY COLOR and ACCENT COLOR, either by clicking the swatch and using the color picker or by typing a hex value.
- Optionally write a CUSTOM FOOTER line. Leave it blank to keep the default.
- Decide on Hide "Powered by Metric Vault".
- Press Save branding. The feedback line shows Saving…, then Saved. Next PDF export and share-link will use these settings.
- Create a share link from any result and press Preview to see the real page. See Sharing a result by link.
Note: The saved settings take effect on links you create afterwards. Pages you already published keep the branding they were created with.
Check what it will look like#
The Preview share button explains where the branding appears: save your branding first, then use Share public link on any tool and the public page will show your brand. It is a reminder rather than a renderer, so use the share dialog's own Preview for the real thing.
Reset to the Metric Vault default#
- Press Reset.
- Confirm at Reset branding to Metric Vault default? by pressing Reset.
- Your stored branding is deleted, the company name and footer fields clear, the colors return to the Metric Vault defaults
#7c5cfcand#D946A8, the hide switch turns off, and the feedback line reads Reset complete.
Reset removes the saved record entirely. New share pages fall straight back to Metric Vault branding. Pages you already published are unaffected.
Note: If you had uploaded a logo in this session, the LIVE PREVIEW card can keep showing it after a reset until you leave the screen and come back. The stored branding is already gone; only the preview is stale. Reopen Integrations to confirm.

Examples#
Example: Acme SEO uploads a transparent PNG lockup 600 pixels wide, sets the primary color to #1E5AA8 and the accent to #F2A93B, writes "Prepared by Acme SEO" in the footer, and ticks the hide switch. The preview shows the logo, an Acme-blue bar and the Acme footer. After saving, the next share link opens a page with no Metric Vault marks anywhere.
Example: A consultant sets only a company name. With no logo uploaded, their share pages show "Jordan Analytics" as a wordmark in the header, in their chosen colors.

Tips#
- Upload a horizontal logo with a transparent background. It sits inside a 34 by 150 pixel space, so tall marks come out small.
- SVG scales best if you have one.
- Test both themes. Share pages honour the theme the report was created in, so check your logo reads on a dark background as well as a light one.
- Write the footer for the reader, not for your records.
Best Practices#
- Save branding as part of setting the account up, before any client work.
- Keep the two colors meaningfully different so gradients do not collapse into one flat tone.
- Re-check the preview after any brand refresh, and reshare current reports rather than leaving old links carrying an old logo.
- If you are hiding Metric Vault branding, set a custom footer so the page ends with something rather than nothing.
Common Mistakes#
- Saving and expecting old links to change. Branding is baked into a share page when it is created.
- Entering a color name or an RGB value. Only hex is accepted.
- Uploading a huge logo. Anything over 500 KB is refused.
- Assuming this rebrands the app or your downloads. It brands public share pages. See White-label reports.
Limitations#
- One branding profile per account; no per-client variants.
- No custom fonts, no layout options, no custom CSS.
- No custom domain for share links.
- Company name is stored up to 120 characters and the custom footer up to 300.
- Downloads carry Metric Vault branding regardless of these settings.
Troubleshooting#
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing happens when you press Save branding | You are not signed in | Sign in; the feedback line reads Sign in first. |
This feature requires the Pro plan. Your account is on Free. Upgrade to unlock it. | Your plan is below Pro | Upgrade. See Plans and pricing |
| The logo shows in the preview but not on the share page | The logo was chosen but the settings were not saved | Press Save branding, then create a new link |
| The colors are ignored | The hex value was invalid, so the save was refused | Use a #-prefixed hex value and save again |
| The editor is empty after a reload | Branding loads a moment after the Integrations screen opens | Wait a second, or reopen the screen |
| The preview still shows your logo after Reset | The preview card holds the image you uploaded in this session | The stored branding is already deleted; leave the screen and come back to clear the preview |
| Reset did not change an existing client link | Reset only affects pages created afterwards | Create a new link, and ask support to remove the old one. See Sharing a result by link |
FAQs#
Where exactly does my branding appear? On the public share pages your share links open. See White-label reports for the element-by-element breakdown.
Do I have to upload a logo? No. With a company name and no logo, the page shows your name as a wordmark.
What happens if I downgrade below Pro? You can no longer save changes. You can still press Reset to clear what is stored.
Can I preview without creating a share link? The editor's LIVE PREVIEW card shows the logo, colors and footer as you type. For the real page, create a link and press Preview in the share dialog.
Is my logo stored anywhere public? It is stored with your account and rendered into the share pages you create. It is not published anywhere else.
Does branding affect emails or alerts? No. See Every notification you can receive.
