What is Metric Vault AI?

Metric Vault is one signed-in workspace for search visibility, competitor research, AI answer-engine tracking, and content production.

Summary#

Metric Vault AI is a web application that measures how visible a website is, both in Google and in AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, and then helps you act on what it finds. It combines technical site auditing, keyword and competitor research, AI-answer visibility tracking, content writing, publishing, and reporting into one signed-in workspace at metricvaultai.com/dashboard. You do not install anything and you do not need access to the site you are analyzing.

Purpose#

Most teams working on search visibility end up with four or five separate subscriptions: a rank tracker, a keyword tool, a technical crawler, a writing assistant, and something to produce client reports. The data never lines up, nothing is comparable, and the cost of switching between them is paid every single day.

There is also a newer problem. A growing share of the questions your customers ask never reach a blue-link results page at all. They are answered inside an AI assistant, or inside a Google AI Overview, and traditional rank tracking cannot see any of it. A site can hold position 3 on Google and still be invisible to the answer that most people actually read.

Metric Vault exists to solve both at once. One workspace, one set of measurements, and coverage of both the classic search results and the AI answers that increasingly sit above them.

Overview#

The application is organized into thirteen sections, shown as icons down the left edge of the screen. Each section groups the tools that belong to one job.

A tool is one measurement or one piece of generated work. You type an input, usually a domain, URL, or keyword, press the run button, and a result renders on the same page. Some tools cost nothing. Others spend credits, a monthly allowance attached to your plan. Key concepts and vocabulary defines both terms properly, and How credits work covers the credit system in detail.

Every result is saved automatically to your Library, where you can reopen it later at no cost, export it as PDF, Excel, CSV, or JSON, or publish it as a public link that needs no sign-in to view.

How it works#

Metric Vault does not guess. Behind each tool sits a real data source, and the platform is deliberate about telling you which one.

  • Search and keyword data comes from DataForSEO, a commercial provider of live Google data. Results that use it carry a "VERIFIED FROM DATAFORSEO" badge. When a domain genuinely has no ranking data, tools show an honest empty state rather than inventing numbers.
  • AI visibility data comes from asking the AI models themselves, live, and recording what they say about you. That is why those tools are described as measurements rather than estimates.
  • Technical checks are direct fetches of your own pages. The tool requests the URL, reads the HTML, headers, robots.txt, or sitemap, and grades what it finds. No third-party data is involved, which is why these are the tools that cost nothing.
  • Written output comes from large language models, framed with the real data collected above so that a brief or an article is grounded in measured facts.

Sitting on top of all of it is a shared result layer. Whatever tool you ran, the result appears in the same shape: a header identifying the target, summary tiles, sections grouped into tabs, and a "Get recommendations" panel that turns the finding into a prioritized action plan. Learning to read one result teaches you to read all of them. Reading a result covers that shape in full.

Results are also cached. If someone else recently ran the same public measurement, you get the stored answer instantly instead of waiting for a fresh provider call. Reopening your own saved result is always free. Result caching and freshness explains the freshness rules.

Who it is for#

  • In-house marketers and founders who need to know whether their site is healthy and whether anyone can find it, without hiring an agency to tell them.
  • SEO consultants who need reliable comparative data on any domain, including competitors they have no access to.
  • Agencies who need the same research across many clients, plus reports that carry their own logo and colors rather than ours.
  • Content teams who want the research, the brief, the draft, the fact check, and the publish step in one place.

What it is not#

Being straight about this saves time. Metric Vault does not read your Google Analytics unless you connect it, does not manage your ad spend, is not a website builder, and does not modify your site. It reports and recommends. Applying the fixes is still your job, though the recommendation panel writes the exact steps.

Some capabilities on the plan comparison are marketing claims that the product does not yet enforce as hard limits. If a specific cap matters to your buying decision, check Full plan comparison, which is explicit about which limits are enforced.
