Summary#

Creating a Metric Vault account takes under a minute. You can sign up with an email address and password, or with a Google account. There is no payment card at signup, no trial clock on the Free plan, and no approval step. When you are done you land on the dashboard with the ten zero-credit technical tools available immediately.

Purpose#

An account exists so your work has somewhere to live. Runs are saved to your Library, monitoring and alerts are attached to you, and your plan and credit allowance are tracked against your address. The public tools at /free-tools/ need no account at all, so if you only want a one-off technical check, you can skip this page entirely and read Free tools, no account needed instead.

Requirements#

• A working email address you can receive mail at. A confirmation link may be sent there, and it is the address every invoice, alert and report is tied to.
• A modern browser with JavaScript enabled.
• No ad blocker, privacy extension, or network filter that blocks our sign-in script. This is the single most common cause of a sign-in page that does nothing.
• No payment card. Free requires none.

Permissions#

Anyone can create an account. There is no invitation gate, no waiting list, and no domain restriction. A new account starts on the Free plan with zero credits, one seat, and no team invites. See What you get on Free for exactly what that runs.

Signing up does not make you a member of anyone else's workspace. If a colleague invited you, create your account first and then open their invite link. See Inviting teammates.

Step-by-Step Guide#

Option A: email and password#

1. Open metricvaultai.com/login. The card opens on the Sign In tab, headed "Welcome back."
2. Click the Sign Up tab. The heading changes and the subtitle reads "Create your account to get started".
3. Fill in Full Name. The placeholder shows John Doe. This is the name shown beside your avatar in the top bar, and you can change it later in Your profile.
4. Fill in Email Address, placeholder you@example.com. Use an address you check. It cannot be changed later from inside the app.
5. Fill in Password. Use the eye icon at the end of the field to reveal what you typed. The sign-up form does not enforce a length of its own, but the password-reset form requires at least 8 characters, so choose at least that many.
6. Press Create Account.
7. One of two things happens:
• You are signed in straight away and see Account created successfully! before being taken to the dashboard.
• You see a message asking you to confirm your address: Almost there — we sent a confirmation link to <your email>. Click it to activate your account, then sign in. Open that email, click the link, then return to /login and sign in normally.

Option B: Google#

1. Open metricvaultai.com/login.
2. Below the form, past the divider that reads "or continue with", press Continue with Google.
3. Choose the Google account you want to use and approve the request in Google's own window.
4. You are returned to the dashboard already signed in. No password is created, and no confirmation email is sent.

If you arrived from a pricing page#

Links from the pricing page carry your chosen plan, for example /login.html?plan=pro&billing=monthly. Your choice is remembered across the sign-up and, once you are authenticated, you are taken directly to a Stripe checkout page rather than the dashboard. If anything goes wrong with checkout you still land on the dashboard rather than being stranded. Subscribing and checkout covers the purchase flow.

Interface language#

The sign-in page has its own language menu in the top corner, offering English, Español, Français, Português, Deutsch and Русский. Your choice is remembered and applied again inside the app. Changing the language covers the in-app switcher.

FAQs#

Do I need a credit card? No. Free requires no card and does not expire. A card is only requested at Stripe checkout if you choose a paid plan.

Can I change my email address later? No. There is no email-change control in the application. If you need to move to a different address, contact support@metricvaultai.com. See Changing your email address.

Is there single sign-on, SAML, or a magic link? No. The available methods are email with password, and Google. There is also no two-factor authentication today. Account security is honest about what exists.

Can I use a shared team login? You should not. Each seat is intended for one person, and sharing one set of credentials across people who are not teammates may result in suspension. Invite them properly instead: Inviting teammates.

What happens to my Free work if I upgrade later? Nothing is lost. Your Library, monitored URLs and settings all carry over.

Can an administrator create accounts on my behalf? No. There is no admin-side account creation. Everyone signs themselves up and is then invited into a workspace.
