Account and settings

Summary#

Everything about your account lives on one screen in the app: who you are, how you sign in, which plan you are on, how much of your monthly credit allowance you have used, what language and theme the interface uses, and which alerts reach you. This category explains every control on that screen, plus the few account tasks that happen elsewhere, such as resetting a password from the sign-in page.

Overview#

Open the account screen from Dashboard → Account & Team → Account, or from the user menu in the top-right corner of the app.

Settings in Metric Vault fall into two groups, and knowing which is which saves a lot of confusion:

• Stored on your account. Your display name and your four notification preferences travel with you. Sign in from a different computer and they are already correct.
• Stored in the browser you are using. Theme, interface language, target country and your active workspace are remembered per browser. A new laptop starts from the defaults.

All account settings lists every setting with its default and where it is kept.

Profile and sign-in#

• Your profile — every field on the Account screen, what it shows, and what you can change.
• Changing your password — set a password in the app, or reset one you have forgotten from the sign-in page.
• Changing your email address — what changing an email address means and how it is handled today.
• Exporting your data — the export options across the platform and what each one produces.
• Deleting your account — the current process for closing an account and removing its data.

Security#

• Account security — what protects your account: authentication, session tokens, plan and workspace checks.
