Summary#

My Content is a lightweight library of the pieces you are writing. Each entry has a title, a type and a status, and the screen totals them into five counters. It runs entirely in your browser, costs nothing, and holds up to 300 pieces.

Purpose#

Metric Vault produces a lot of writing artefacts — briefs, outlines, articles, posts. Without somewhere to put them, they live in the tool that made them and you lose track of what is drafted, what is waiting on review and what actually shipped.

This screen exists to answer one question at a glance: what have I got in flight, and how much of it is live? It is deliberately small. It tracks the state of a piece, not the piece itself.

Overview#

My Content is a list you add to. You type a title, pick a status and a type, and click Add. Several tools can also file a piece here for you — Auto-Execute saves its finished article automatically, and Topic Map, Meta Generator, the Content Dashboard and Narrative Drivers each have a save action that adds an entry.

Everything is stored in your own browser. There is no server call, no credit charge and no sync between devices or teammates. The list is capped at 300 pieces, and Export Library downloads the whole thing as JSON whenever you want a copy.

That local-first design is why it is instant, and it is the main thing to understand before you rely on it. For results that are saved to your account and shared with your team, use Saved Work instead.

Use Cases#

Tracking a content sprint. Twelve pieces commissioned, five drafted, two live — the counters tell you that without a spreadsheet.

Catching what Auto-Execute produced. The pipeline files its finished article here as a Draft, so nothing gets written and forgotten.

Running a weekly review. Filter to In Review, work down the list, then flip what passed to Published.

Handing over. Export the library as JSON and send it, rather than describing where everything is.

Keeping a personal queue. Ideas go in as Draft the moment you have them.

Requirements#

• A signed-in account to reach the dashboard.
• A browser with local storage available. Private or incognito windows discard the list when the window closes.
• No plan requirement, no credits, no integration.

Permissions#

Every plan tier can use it, including Free, and every team role sees the same screen. There is nothing below the tier that shows a different view — but because the store is per-browser, two teammates on the same account see two different libraries. This is not a shared workspace.

Cost#

Free. 0 credits. Nothing on this screen calls the API, so nothing is metered against your monthly quota or the hourly fair-use limit. See How credits work for what does cost credits.

Step-by-Step Guide#

1. Open Write & Optimize and choose My Content.
2. To add a piece, type a title into Title or topic (e.g. Best CRM Software 2026).
3. Choose a status and a type from the two selects beside it.
4. Click Add, or press Enter in the title field. The row appears immediately and the counters update.
5. To find something, type in Search title or tag… or set the status, type and sort controls.
6. To remove a piece, click Remove on its row. This is immediate and there is no undo.
7. To back the list up, click Export Library. A file named my-content-library.json downloads.

Reading the Results#

LIBRARY AT A GLANCE. The large number top right is the total piece count, labelled pieces saved. It is the same figure as the first stat card, repeated where your eye lands first.

Completion shows 0% when the library is empty rather than a dash.

Your Library. The section header carries a live count — 12 pieces, or 1 piece when there is one. Under the filter row, each piece is a single row:

• Title in bold.
• Type · date underneath, formatted M/D/YYYY — the date the piece was added, not the date it was published.
• Status badge on the right. Draft renders amber, In Review neutral grey, Published green. The color is the fastest read on the whole screen: a column of amber means a backlog.
• Remove at the end of the row.

The empty state. With nothing saved — or with filters that match nothing — you get No saved pieces yet and Add a piece above or generate one from a topic — saved work from your pipelines will appear here. If you know you have pieces and see this, clear the search box and reset the filters before assuming data has been lost.

What to do with it. Read Completion first, then the Draft and In Review cards. Those three numbers tell you whether the problem is production, review or publishing. Then filter to the blocked status and work the list.

Tips#

• Press Enter in the title field instead of reaching for Add.
• Add the piece when you commission it, not when you finish it. The library is only useful if it reflects what is in flight.
• Export the library at the end of each month. It takes a click and it is the only backup that exists.
• Use Sort: Status to group the list without touching the filters.
• If the counters look wrong after a tool saved something, reopen the screen — it re-renders whenever it becomes visible.

Best Practices#

• Keep titles specific. CRM comparison and Best CRM Software 2026 are the same piece a month apart, and you will not remember which was which.
• Move a piece to In Review the moment it is drafted, so the counter stays honest.
• Treat Bulk Publish Drafts as an end-of-sprint action, not a shortcut. It flips every draft, including the ones you have not read.
• Export before clearing browser data, changing machine or switching browser.
• Use Editorial Workflow & Calendar when you need dates, owners and notes rather than a status list.

Common Mistakes#

• Assuming it syncs. It does not. The library lives in one browser on one device.
• Expecting the article text to be here. The library stores the title, type, status and date, plus a small set of metadata from whichever tool saved it. The finished report lives in Saved Work.
• Searching for a tag. The search box filters on the title only.
• Clicking Remove to archive something. There is no archive and no undo.
• Relying on it as the team's source of truth. Two people on the same account see two different lists.

Limitations#

• Browser-local storage only. No account sync, no team sharing, no server backup.
• Capped at 300 pieces; the oldest entries fall off beyond that.
• Search matches the title only, although the placeholder says Search title or tag….
• Type filtering is exact-match, and the tools that save automatically normalise types to Article, Brief, Outline or Post. Filtering by SEO Brief or Social Post therefore shows only the pieces you added by hand with those exact selections. Leave the type filter on All types to see everything.
• Rows cannot be edited. To change a title, status or type, remove the piece and add it again.
• There is no import — Export Library is one-way.
• Clearing site data, using a private window, or switching browser loses the list.

FAQs#

Where is my content stored? In your own browser, private to you, holding up to 300 pieces. Nothing is sent to a server, which is why it is instant and why it does not follow you between devices. Use Export Library for a JSON copy.

Does it cost credits? No. Nothing on this screen calls the API. See How credits work.

How is this different from the Library? Saved Work holds saved tool results on your account, for 90 days, with your team. My Content is a private list of the pieces you are writing and their status. Different jobs, different storage.

Which tools file pieces here automatically? Auto-Execute saves its finished article as a Draft. Topic Map, Meta Generator, the Content Dashboard and Narrative Drivers each have a save action that adds an entry when you use it.

Can my team see my library? No. It is per-browser and per-device, so teammates see their own. For shared work, use Saved Work or What teammates share.

Can I get the list back if I clear my browser? Only from a my-content-library.json file you exported earlier. There is no server copy to restore from.

Can I edit a saved piece? Not in place. Remove it and add it again with the details you want.
