Tool status badges

What LIVE, NEW, BETA, WORKFLOW and DEPRECATED mean on a tool, which tools carry each, and which screens are placeholders.

Last updated 2026-09-10

Summary#

Some rows in the tool list carry a small badge: LIVE, NEW, BETA, WORKFLOW or SOON. Each one tells you something about what to expect from that tool before you open it. This page defines all five, lists exactly which tools carry each, and covers the four screens that are placeholders for work that is not finished.

Overview#

A badge sits to the right of the tool's name in the left-hand tool list. Five badges are in use, drawn in the same treatment. SOON is the one that means the screen behind it is a placeholder rather than a working tool.

BadgeWhat it tells youCount
LIVERuns against live measured data on demand, and is fully released12
NEWRecently added to the product15
BETAReleased but still being finished; behavior may change1
WORKFLOWNot a single tool. Runs several tools in one click and returns one consolidated report6
DEPRECATEDNo longer maintained. Do not build a process on it1

A tool without a badge is a released, supported tool. Most of the product is unbadged; the absence of a badge is the normal state, not a warning.

Note

Note: A badge says nothing about cost. A LIVE tool can be free and a NEW tool can be premium. Cost is in Tool catalog and credit cost.

LIVE#

Twelve tools carry LIVE. In practice it marks the tools that fetch and measure something at the moment you press Run, rather than assembling a view of stored data. Most of Site Health is here, because those tools read your actual pages.

Growth Actions also shows a LIVE indicator in its own page heading, though it carries no badge in the tool list. The six workflow screens show a LIVE · REAL DATA pill in their headers for the same reason.

NEW#

Ten tools carry NEW. Every one of them is a working tool: NEW says recently added, not unfinished. The unfinished ones carry SOON and are listed in the next section.

SOON#

Four tools carry SOON. These are the placeholder screens: the entry exists so you can see where the tool will live, and opening it says so plainly rather than pretending to work.

Warning

Warning: none of these four is usable yet, and since 2026-09-10 none is listed in the sidebar either. The section above is where each WILL sit when it ships. Do not plan work around them; there is no committed date.

BETA#

No tool carries BETA today. The badge still exists and means usable but unfinished: check the output before relying on it, and expect the interface to change. Publish Integrations carried it until Write & Optimize was reorganised into four entry points, where publishing is now one of the four rather than a separate badged row.

WORKFLOW#

Six entries in Get Started carry WORKFLOW. They are launchers, not tools: each one fires several tools in parallel against one input and rolls the results into a single consolidated report with strategic insights and a recommended action plan.

A workflow states its total cost on the run button and in a banner above it, and it charges that total once. The individual tools inside it do not prompt you separately, and the "You already ran this" prompt is suppressed for the duration. The full tool lists are in Tool catalog and credit cost.

DEPRECATED#

No entry carries DEPRECATED today. Client Portal carried it and has since been removed from the tool list entirely rather than left as a deprecated row. For sharing results with clients, use Sharing a result by link and White-label reports.

Placeholder screens#

Four screens ship as placeholders. They share the same layout: a wrench icon, the tool's name, a one-line description of what it will do, a small In development badge with a pulsing dot, and the note:

Note

This tool is not available yet. It is listed here so you can see where it will live.

ScreenSectionDescription shown
Outreach + CRMCompetitors & Backlinks"Will manage link building and PR outreach, tracking contacts, sequences and replies in one place."
HARO-Style Journalist MatchingMarketing"Will match your expertise to journalist requests so you can earn coverage and authoritative links."
No-Code AutomationAccount & Team"Will let you build automations that chain Metric Vault tools and external apps together without writing code."
WebhooksAccount & Team"Will push events such as rank drops, finished reports and site issues to your own endpoints in real time."

These screens run nothing and charge nothing, and none of them is reachable from the sidebar. They were listed deliberately until 2026-09-10, on the reasoning that the shape of the product should be visible in advance; that was reversed because a nav entry ending in a "not available yet" card teaches the customer nothing.

Important

Important: A placeholder is not a commitment to a date. If your plan depends on one of these, talk to us rather than waiting. See Contacting support.

Other status indicators you will see#

Badges in the tool list are not the only status signals in the product.
